Hi, there.
It's been a while. About 4 years have passed since I last posted on here.
I saw that I still had one unpublished post. I took one breath, went through the post for typos, and hit publish. I guess I though I owed it to my 20 year old self. You can check out that unfinished but published post here.
So going back, I made a few changes in this blog: profile photo, description, etc.
But the most important is the name.
The original name of this blog was hell on heels. Tacky, right? I don't even wear heels anymore so the name really had to change. However, the real reason for this change was because I met someone who's called Hell on Heels last year. It did not shock me that this name was going to be taken but now that I've decided to continue this blog, I knew I couldn't use that name anymore.
Bagay sa kanya. Sa kanya na lang.
To be clear, I'm not mad at her or anything. I just realized that the name is not me and it fit her a lot better.
So enter: Dieggy Ventures
Perhaps I should start by recounting that one class in college. It was the first day of a new semester, probably the second year. The class was a mix of Psych majors, Communications majors, etc. But it was mostly my block so we already knew each other.
Our professor was young, this might have been her first year to teach an actual class. I'm not judging her for it, though. It's just that she looked like our age. First days are always about forcefully getting to know each other. Now out professor, being the upbeat and energetic young person that she is - decided to put everyone in a circle so we can all see each other.
She posed a challenge to the class - use the first letter of your name and think of an adjective that describes you. Seems pretty simple, but to an 18 or 19 year old facing a group of girls that had drivers and their own condo units, you had to think of a really good one to make a good impression. I don't know, maybe I'm just built to stand out.
See, I already knew I had to stand out. So the next question is, do I use my first name or my cool, edgy, nickname derived from my last name?
I decided to go with the latter - Dieggy. But what adjective starts with D? At this point perhaps 4 or 5 students have already gone. I did not listen to any of them. I still had to think about a cool adjective that started with D. Dainty? Dazzling? Decent? My god, all those sounded so pretentious. Then it came to me: Daring.
I thought to myself, "am I a porn star?"
"No," I answered myself. At this point it's getting closer to my turn. I wasn't listening if my classmates had the chance to explain what they meant with their adjectives but I was prepared to if ever.
I was going to say, "because I like to try new things."
A few classmates went and then I had to introduce myself. I remember saying, "Hi! I'm Daring Dieggy."
My professor pursed her lips, not knowing if she's impressed or if she wanted to laugh. I didn't care what she thought. As long as I was able to establish that I'm here to make an impression and stand out, that's all I needed.
Now you may think why didn't I use "Daring Dieggy" for this blog. The answer is simple - I'm not as daring as I used to be. That teenager is gone. I no longer puke from taxi cabs and go on questionable dates (I think). But, I still have that curiosity and drive to try new things. My perspective now is that I will still keep that urge to try new things but take it as an adventure - a challenge if you will. Challenges are better than just trying new things because overcoming them takes purpose.
So, without further adieu - welcome to the new blog of Dieggy!
I'll be writing about different topics in the coming weeks (hopefully).

This blog started in 2013 when I was still in college. Now, I still want to write so I will be writing about my day job as an HR person in an ad agency, travels, make up and skin care, and whatever the hell I want. Sit back, relax, and enjoy as I take you on this mediocre ride of my life.

Hello, real world.
Hello, Summer!
Of course, I did my own hair and makeup for the events including the Baccalaureate Mass and Recognition Day. At first I wanted to get somebody else to do it but I thought to myself, hey, at least I could practice with my own face so I did. But, because of all the hustle and bustle that comes with all events, I did not get to take a proper before and after picture of myself.
Aaaaand I'm back from a long hiatus of posting. While I was gone, I was busy doing a lot of things. I managed to finish our thesis, graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and do a bit of freelance makeup on the side!
I'm so happy that school is finally over yet I'm scared of what's going to happen next. But anyway, here's a recap of what happened over Grad week.

Let's start with the most recent, graduation.

Palty Gold Brown Bleach review!
Disclaimer: This was not a paid review. I made this review for future clients for the open shoot to have a better understanding of the product and for my readers as well. Quick and spontaneous review only so pictures are very limited.
Good news to fellow Filipinos crazy for Japanese hair dyes! The original Palty Hair Dye is now available locally starting with Landmark and I hear SM has them now as well!
Just a bit of a background, Palty hair dye is a popular Japanese brand of hair dye. It got famous together with the Japanese wave that hit the world. But that's not the only reason why it's one of the well-known hair dye brands from the land of the rising sun. It also has a really cute packaging! I know, I know, there's a lot of Asian hair dyes that have cute packaging as well but Palty has earned its right at the top of the food chain of hair dyes because its formula is less harmful than most brands and it doesn't smell bad, if you ask me!
But wait, there's more! I went to school last Thursday and I got a warning for my hair, lol not the first time I got one. So if you're tired of people not noticing when you did something to your hair, Palty is the way to go!

Can you sense the little known facts about Palty online? Hahaha.
On a more serious note, this is the first time that I've tried Palty Hair Dye. I used Gold Brown Bleach that my friend Dar bought at Landmark along with other Palty products.
This is one of the Palty boxes and what you can expect to see inside! :)
The Palty hair dye package comes with
1. Bleach Powder
2. Gel inside the cylinder container/mixing bottle
3. Palty Solution (with number 1 printed on it)
4. Leave-on Conditioner
5. Gloves
6. The comb thing for the mixing bottle because it aids in application
7. The box has a cut-out circle at the back where you can place the mixing bottle
to avoid spilling!
8. Instructions
You know, that's what I admire about the Japanese! They're so creative and simple; they multiple uses for one item! :)
I do warn you, I didn't take a before picture because I didn't plan on making a review about this product!

| Like other hair dyes, it changes color with different lighting.
I got my hair cut the day before I got the color done!

CONS
Kidding aside, this product was great for me despite my hair being kind of brassy and yellow at certain lightings.
The consistency was not on point. It was too wet for me.
The consistency was not on point. It was too wet for me.
Even if I got my hair cut, my hair is very thick so two boxes was not enough. You can't see from the pictures but there are some parts, especially my bangs that were unevenly colored. It's either the product ran down the back of my head while waiting or my sweat made it drip. Also, it might have been because I should have done what I usually do when bleaching which is to use aluminum foil!
My school does not allow hair that's not au naturale, and it's not advisable to use Palty Hair dyes too often because of the bleach. :)
PROS
It does its job with the least amount of time! I didn't expect my hair to become this light because usually I leave dyes on for almost two hours (I know that's bad) because of how thick it is. But with Palty, it didn't take that long for the change of color to appear.
The packaging is just super cute. The cuteness helps because it lifts your mood and makes you feel warm and happy.

The multiple uses of the items in the package are always a plus! New ways of using materials are always good especially if you're trying to help the environment.
There's so much unique colors to choose from! 'Nuff said!
In general, I give palty four thumbs up!
I hope you enjoyed my two cents of the Palty hair dye!

POPtraits and updates!
Hi! So sorry I've been MIA but I've been busy with my thesis and my freelance makeup gigs! It's quite challenging but I love my course and I love doing makeup so for now, I'll just try and balance the two together. Besides, in a few months (with the help of tons of coffee and wifi), I'll be graduating! So I'm spending a lot of time doing school work and preparation for my graduation. But unlike this sembreak, which I am now dreading that's the last of my college life, I will be more active in blogging! For the weeks to come I have tons of things to write about that are, well, mainly about makeup! I'll also start doing tips (AND DIYs!) for y'all! Be warned, there are Halloween-related tips that I didn't get to post on time and I apologize for that!
Anyway, I have great news! Despite the thesis and makeup gigs, this is the first time that I'll be collaborating with Hello Miss Dar as an official makeup artist! I am so excited I feel like I've just leveled up!

SG Authentic Mac Brushes
Hi! So it's been a while since I've last posted here but I'm back with a vengeance! I got tons of things to blog about because I've been quite busy with school and my makeup gigs and testing out different products!
So, I'd like to come back to blogging with this review of the 16-piece Mac Brush set I got from @prettyangelshoppe from Instagram. :)
The thing with @prettyangelshoppe is that the seller remains kind despite her assertiveness. Anyway, I've gotten other products from her and so far I haven't had a negative reaction to them, so yay! Also, I cannot stress it enough that they have the fastest courier ever! I often pay for things at lunch time and the packages arrive usually in a little more than 24 hours.
To start, here's what it looked like when the set arrived 3 weeks ago:
Now, it looks like this!
Lol, so yeah it shows how it's been used over and over again because it's just a breeze to use! Don't worry though, I clean the hair of the brushes thoroughly. Anyway, do you see in the pictures of when the set arrived? The case comes with a lengthy detachable strap to make your life easy. It's also the perfect set for me because it's not too much that I get confused on which brushes to use when I'm under pressure and because it takes quite a long time for me to clean my brushes.
Let's move on to the specific brushes and their uses!
| So this is supposed to be a duo fiber brush but this one particularly is a bad brush because the first time I used it, it felt so soft and it had no hair fall at all! But when I started cleaning it, I guess the glue gave out and now, I don't want to use it. If you want pics of what it looks like now, I'll gladly send it to you but I don't want to include it here on my blog. I give this a 2/10 because I still used it 2-3 times before it became unusable. I also used this in one of my videos but back then it was still very new and didn't show signs of falling out. :( |
| This is what I use to put on foundation and sometimes even the concealer! This is also one of my favorites from the set because it's so versatile and clients love it as well because it's so so so soft. Compared to my Elianto foundation brush and given that it's a replica, it's doing its job well! I give this brush a 8/10. |
| Okay so this is a blending brush as well. I use it on the crease area and whenever I want to blend edges even more. It's also an average brush. I give this brush a 6.5/10 as well. |
| nother square brush, you ask? Well, this is great for concealers! It lets you get into those nooks and crannies with ease! I give this brush a 7/10. |
| See below |
| I use these brushes for lips! I give them both 6/10. |
| I use this one with the Naturactor Concealer in 171! They're a match made in heaven lol. But once, I used this for the lips as well and it works great! I give this a 7/10. |
| Yey! A review of this Naturactor concealer is coming up! |
Let's do some Math:
7/10
2/10
8/10
5/10
6/10
6/10
6.5/10
6.5/10
7/10
6/10
9.5/10
6/10 (x2)
7/10
4/10 (x2)
96.5/160
= 60.3125%
Not bad, right?
All in all, I think that the brush set is a good buy. It's not overwhelming but it's still a lot.
I know that most people are skeptical about the replicas made but it really depends on the user because if you can buy the originals, by all means, do! But if you can't, and you're not that picky, you can opt to buy knock-offs! It's your prerogative on how you're going to take care of your belongings and how you choose to spend your money so whether it's original or replica, as long as you use your things with love, I think you'll be able to utilize every skill you have and just do you your best!
Also, I'd really like to emphasize on the fact that there are tons of great brushes out there. One of my favorite kabuki brushes was from Guangzhou, China last year and I bought it on a whim! Up to now, it's still so soft and it's a must-have in my kit. This goes to show that even non-branded brushes are still good to have because you'll never know which ones you're good with and which ones you're not. In short, just experiment and be open-minded! :)
Here's a totally random but related video I made as well:

Easy Smokey Eye using the Naked 2 Palette
I'm the kind of girl that likes dramatic makeup. If I can, I'll study special effects. But now's not the time to do that so here's a super easy and quick smokey eye makeup that you can use for Halloween, a party, date night, etc!
I made a video about it but to make things easier, here's a step-by-step on how to do it!
![]() |
| 1. Prime your eyes first! |
![]() |
| 2. Swipe your lids with Bootycall |
![]() |
| 3. Like a window-wiper, use the fluffy brush that comes with the palette to put on Tease on a small part of your crease. |
![]() |
| 4. Use Busted and put over Tease with the same technique |
![]() |
| 5. With clean fingers, dab on Half Baked on the middle part of your eye lid and blend a little. |
![]() |
| 6. Dab Chopper on the sides of Half Baked (outer and inner corners of eyes) |
![]() |
| 7. Load up Blackout on the flat brush provided with the palette and with dabbing motion, lightly put on top of Busted and continue to make a V on the outer corner of your eye. |
![]() |
| 8. Blend, blend, and blend some more! |
![]() |
| 9. With a small flat brush, use Half Baked and line your lower lash line |
![]() |
| 10. Use Blackout and line outer corner of lower lash line. Connect Blackout from eyelid and lower lash line. |
![]() |
| 11. With an angled flat brush, Use Maybelline cream eyeliner on upper lash line. Don't forget to add a wing! |
![]() |
| 12. After putting on false eyelashes, use Lancome's Hypnose Doll Eyes to connect your natural eyelashes and false eyelashes together. Here's how I put on my false eyelashes: |
